ginzandaira forest park

The area around “10 Stories Hotel OZE Oze Jujo” is maintained as “Ginzan-daira Forest Park”
and has a cycling road, a promenade, and a hot spring facility “Shirogane-no-yu”.
The cycling path takes 30 minutes for a slow ride, and the promenade takes one hour
for a fit person and two hours for a slow walk.
Both have excellent views and are surrounded by Echigo-Komagatake
(one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains), Nakanodake (one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains),
and Arasawadake (one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains).
Bicycle rentals are available at Oze Jujo. The Kitanomata River, which runs beside Oze Jujo
(beside the forest park), is one of the most precious “protected water surfaces” in Japan.
As the name suggests, the protected water surface protects the natural environment and
fishery resources by “protecting the surface of the water,” and fishing and human entry to the water are prohibited. This is one of the oldest nature conservation activities in Japan, and was designated by the national government
in 1981 as a result of more than 10 years of activities by the “Okutadami Fish Growing Association
” formed by the late Ken Kaiko and local residents. Please do not enter the river,
throw stones, or throw garbage. The surrounding area, including Ginzandaira Forest Park,
is designated as “Echigo-Miyama-Tadami National Park.
